Choosing a consultant (trainer)

Here is my list of the top questions to ask anyone you are considering to work with your dog
  1. Do you use choke chains,  prong collars, e collars or any other gadgets?
  2. Will I always be present when you work with the dogs?
  3. Will I still be able to have the dogs in the house and will I have to tie them up or ignore them for long periods of time?
  4. Are your methods positive, balanced or traditional?
  5. What experience have you had with similar issues to those I describe?
  6. How many consults do you estimate will be required and what do you estimate the total costs of your service to be?
  7. Please give me example of one technique you predict you will be using with my dogs and why
Of course I'm happy to answer any of these!
The pet industry is currently unregulated.  Unfortunately this can lead to very bad outcomes for your dog and even worse behaviour problems.

Please consider carefully for your dog's sake.
